Hi there! My name is Stanley, welcome to my substack. I am a DJ and promoter based in Manchester, where I discovered and fell in love with electronic music. A byproduct of my search for fun places to meet cute boys.
Over the years I eventually started DJing and got involved with throwing parties. The learning curve has been steeeep, but it is something that brings me great joy and also great anxieties lol.
I run a queer party called Rojak that focuses on platforming and celebrating LGBTQI+ people of colour. Some people might know me from my time at Partisan Collective, where I supported event production for over two years. When I am not throwing shapes on the dancefloor, you can find me DJing about under the moniker STNLY.
I will be documenting my journey navigating nightlife and events north of the UK. I hope it can be a useful resource for anyone in a similar position looking to get into electronic music or the creative industry in general.
